KIXLAB has received a “Star Lab” grant from the Korean government. The grant will support our research on “object-oriented video interaction” for the next 8 years. What if we can author and watch videos with objects, relationships, and contexts than with pixels and frames? We plan to design and build next-generation interactive technologies for video authoring, watching, and analytics.

We launched the byulbyul.kr <별별생각> system!

In collaboration with SBS (Korean national TV network), we recently launched an experimental online platform called “별별생각”, where people can share their characteristics as well as their opinions on social issues, and see the distribution of opinions and search for people with shared characteristics.

Our “Efficient Elicitation Approaches to Estimate Collective Crowd Answers” paper wins a Best Paper Honorable Mention Award for CSCW 2019. This project started as John’s internship project in KIXLAB and evolved into a collaboration with colleagues at the University of Michigan.
